On June 11, the China Electric Charging Infrastructure Promotion Alliance released the charging pile operation data for May 2021. From January to May of 2021, the increase in charging infrastructure will be 189,000 units, the increase in public charging infrastructure will increase by 125.2% year-on-year, and the increase in charging facilities built with vehicles will continue to increase, up by 142.9% year-on-year.

    As of May 2021, the cumulative number of charging infrastructure in the country was 1.870 million, an increase of 43.9% year-on-year; the number of charging stations in each province was 65,000, including 9,603 in Guangdong, 5,998 in Jiangsu, and 5,309 in Zhejiang; There are 644 seats, including 215 in Beijing, 103 in Guangdong, 64 in Zhejiang, 39 in Shanghai, and 38 in Jiangsu.

 

    In terms of the operation of public charging infrastructure, there were 16,200 more public charging piles in May 2021 than in April 2021, and a year-on-year increase of 60.6% in May. As of May 2021, member units of the alliance have reported a total of 884,000 public charging piles, including 368,000 DC charging piles, 516,000 AC charging piles, and 426 AC/DC integrated charging piles. From June 2020 to May 2021, about 27,800 public charging piles were added on average every month.

 

    In terms of the operation of public charging infrastructure operators, as of May 2021, there are 10 charging piles operated by charging companies across the country with more than 10,000 units. They are: 219,000 units operated by special calls and 19.6 units operated by the State Grid. 10,000 units, Xingxing charging operation 193,000 units, cloud fast charging operation 67,000 units, China Southern Power Grid operation 41,000 units, Yiwei Energy operation 27,000 units, SAIC Anyue operation 20,000 units, Shenzhen Auto Power Grid operation 16,000 units, 10,000 units Ma Aichong operates 16,000 units, and China Putian operates 15,000 units. These 10 operators accounted for 91.7% of the total, and the remaining operators accounted for 8.3% of the total.

 

    In terms of the operation of the charging facilities built by car companies, as of May 2021, 379,000 data on the reasons why charging facilities were not built with cars have been sampled. Among them, group users built piles by themselves, the residential area did not have a fixed parking space, and the residential property did not cooperate with the three factors that were the main reasons for not building charging facilities with the car, accounting for 48.7%, 10.3%, and 9.9% respectively, totaling 69.0 %. There is no fixed parking space at the work site, the application for installation is difficult, users choose to charge at a dedicated station, and other reasons account for 31.0%.

 

    In terms of the latest favorable policies, on May 20, the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration issued the "Implementation Opinions on Further Improving the Service Guarantee Capability of Charging and Swap Infrastructure (Draft for Soliciting Comments)" (hereinafter referred to as the "Draft for Comments)," Community charging pile construction promotion mechanism. Qualified charging and swapping facilities and supporting power grid construction and transformation investments will be included in the scope of support from special bonds for new infrastructure construction and the China Clean Development Mechanism Fund. Financial institutions such as the China Development Bank provide long-term low-cost funds for the construction of charging and replacement facilities through multiple channels.

 

    The draft opinion also proposes that new residential communities should implement 100% fixed parking spaces and reserve charging pile construction and installation conditions, and power supply facilities such as pipelines and bridges need to be built into parking spaces to meet the needs of direct meter installation and electricity connection. At the same time, innovate the business model of charging services in residential communities. Encourage new models such as "nearby parking space sharing" and "multiple cars and one pile".

 

    In addition, in terms of the demand market, according to the latest data released by the China Automobile Association, in May, the production and sales of new energy vehicles in my country reached 217,000, an increase of 1.5 times and 1.6 times respectively year-on-year, continuing to refresh the historical record of the month. Judging from the recent forecast data released by many institutions, my country's new energy vehicle sales this year is expected to exceed 2 million. Among them, Citigroup recently released a research report saying that it raised China's new energy vehicle sales forecast this year to 2.52 million.
